How Does Exercise Help Type 2 Diabetes?
Exercising can, not only accelerate your health and fitness, it can also help normatize Type 2 Diabetes.
Studies and personal testimony have disclosed a host of benefits. Just by adding workouts every week, you can lose weight, lower your cholesterol, build your strength, lower blood pressure and increase energy.
However, lately, I've found recommendations from individuals practicing the newly discovered 7 Minute Workout strategies insist that it has brought their blood sugar levels down. While this program also uses diet, exercise has played an significant role.
A huge advantage of exercise in managing diabetes is that it supports the body's insulin use.
Ordinarily, the pancreas releases insulin whenever the amount of sugar in the bloodstream increases. This occurs after eating, for example. The increase in insulin causes the liver and muscles to absorb the excess glucose, which ends in the lowering blood sugar levels.
When you do physical exercise, your body needs some extra energy (glucose) for the muscles that are being exercised. The muscles and liver can release fuel sources such as the stored glucose.
But, enough from me, let's hear it from the horse's mouth.
Paul Douglas, a 7 minute student, explains the results he gets by doing exercises only 7 minutes a day, 3 times a week and following the systems recommendation on diet.
- "Last night after work my sugar was 6.4. Today three hours after lunch it was 6.5 (Normal is between 4-6 here in Canada). A far cry from the 15.6 reading I had ten days ago. Proof that smart diet and exercise will allow you to control diabetes instead of diabetes controlling you. (Sorry, I don't know how to convert it to US measurements.)"
Paul is a conscientious individual, so his experience may not be yours.
However, a combination of exercise, eating habits and other lifestyle changes may help curb type 2 diabetes.
