The medication Business And FDA Compliance
Very few people would say that pharmaceuticals affect our life in a major way. But it is a fact that most of us since our birth depend on pharmaceuticals in one-way or other. Definitely by age our dependence on pharmacy products increases but even teenagers and young ones consume a big percentage of pharmaceutical derivatives. The industry is governed by FDA Compliance which makes sure the medicines we take have been assessed for risk.
Many people’s daily lives are affected by pharmaceuticals. And hence their rising costs are destined to be our major concern. You cannot ignore your need for medicines no matter how much they damage your finances. In some circumstances, a person will have to spend money on certain drugs so that they can live a healthy life, no matter the cost. Hence there is a great need to regulate the prices of drugs, at least to watch that its price is not much above the cost incurred plus a marginal profit for the manufacturing company. At the moment some companies are charging extraordinary prices for their medicines.
The research and development of new drugs is something that big pharmaceutical companies are involved with. A big amount of money is invested in the R & D branch of the industry. Based on market requirements and demands, companies try hard to invent a suitable drug to cure any ailment. However once any drug has been developed it must be passed by the regulating authority, the FDA. FDA compliance governs the stages of research, development and manufacture that have been undergone for any new drug before being exposed to consumers. A drug can only be sold to the public once it has passed the compliance regulations.
Before drugs are even assessed by the FDA they are put through animal and human tests. During these tests the drug is tested to make sure that it is effective and also to make sure consumers will not experience any dangerous side effects. All of these tests are to make sure that patients are not put in risk by taking these medicines.
The pharmaceutical industry is massively competitive and continues to be so as the medicines market grows. The marketing of drugs is also regulated by the FDA to ensure that companies cannot oversell their products to consumers.
